Welcome to Munday Honey

Local Honey Sales

Peter and Lori Munday

Hello from Peter and Lori.

We are beekeepers and live in Bracknell Berkshire. We are members of Wokingham and District Beekeepers Association (W&DBKA), who have a very active membership.
If you have a honey bee swarm please go to this page: https://wdbka.org.uk/swarms/ – we do not collect swarms.

Our apiary is in Finchampstead on an estate that has not used chemicals in over 20 years. The estate grows grass for silage and within the grass is an abundance of wild flowers which our bees forage on to produce their honey.

We extract the honey from the hive frames by spinning them in a centrifuge; the honey is then filtered twice and poured into jars. Nothing is added or taken away. Our honey will contain traces of pollen, wax, enzymes from the bees and trace elements from the nectar they have collected. We think this honey tastes far superior to shop bought honey and scientifically this type of honey has proven health benefits particularly for the gut.

Ethical Beekeeping

Ethical Beekeeping

Bees are incredible creatures. It is estimated they are involved with around 30% of the food we consume. For honey bees to produce a 454g (1lb) of honey they have to visit two million blossoms and in the life of a worker honey bee (approx six weeks) she will produce less than half a gram of honey.

We believe that these facts, and there are many more, deserve the greatest respect from us. Therefore our practices in beekeeping, shaped by our mentor, means that we try to provide high levels of animal husbandry, working with their natural rhythms and food requirements that they have developed over millions of years.

Runny Honey 1st Prize Nov23

Award Winning Honey

We are incredibly proud of our bees and their honey.
In 2023 we came first in our local honey competition for runny honey.
We hope you enjoy the taste of our honey as much as the judges did.
